THE ARMSTRONG LIE
THURSDAY JUNE 19 | 7 PM
Lance Armstrong - cycling's deposed champion and most prominent liar - is brought to life in Academy Award-winning director Alex Gibney's film. The film starts innocently enough in 2009 when Gibney was hired to make a film about Armstrong's comeback to cycling. The project was then shelved when the doping scandal erupted, and re-opened after Armstrong's confession on Oprah. This film picks up in 2013 and presents an intense, insider's view of the unraveling of one of the most extraordinary stories in the history of sports. As Lance Armstrong himself says: "I didn't live a lot of lies, but I lived one big one." Riveting, revealing and nearly redeeming, THE ARMSTRONG LIE is a must-see on the big screen.
Directed by Alex Gibney. Film running time is 124 minutes. Rated R. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. This film is generously sponsored by Carolyn Neisman.
