We are currently closed for submissions | Submissions will re-open on December 1, 2016 for the 2017 festival.

Dear filmmaker,

Thank you for considering your film for our festival, we look forward to seeing it. If your film is chosen to be a part of our festival we are happy to provide free accommodations for you and a guest and invite you to our great little town - where you do not need a car, but get to walk or bike ride from venue to venue, meeting our enthusiastic, friendly crowds. We’ll also share with you our great hospitality, the opportunity to network, parties, bike rides and most importantly, to build relationships with other filmmakers in quiet, intimate venues. We are, unfortunately, unable to fly filmmakers and representatives to Crested Butte at this time, but we will make your stay here a fun, heart-felt, and rewarding experience.

The following information will answer most of your submission questions.  We look forward to seeing your film, we thank you again, and can't wait to introduce you to our "small town with big films."

Follow us on Facebook for updates and other events throughout the year.

Sincerely,
Jennifer and Michael Brody, Festival Directors

Just about everything distinguishes the Crested Butte Film Festival from other festivals—from the programmers’ joy for cinema, to the warmth of the staff and volunteers, to the genuine enthusiasm of the local community, to its grand, majestic setting. It is truly one of the hands-down best festivals I’ve ever attended. But what is especially moving to see is the care with which they treat each visiting filmmaker, down to their prioritizing of events that are inspiring and meaningful because they are actually conducive to meeting other filmmakers and members of the CBFF family, as opposed to the loud, “hip,” and ultimately superficial parties one typically sees at festivals. I cannot wait to come back to Crested Butte. CBFF is a treasure, and should be at the very top of any filmmaker’s list of festivals to attend.

Film 4 Change.jpg
One of the best festivals in the world!!! A place that inspires, where filmmakers are revered and come together to share their stories. It’s a place that recalls a time past where community mattered above all else. A place for friendships to be forged and where stories are experienced rather than told. A must go on the festival circuit!
