Youth Film Programs

The Crested Butte Film Festival’s Youth Programs offer a great lineup of educational, artistic and inspirational films for young kids and teens. We will screen a variety of films that entertain, spark curiosity and bring awareness to worlds that may otherwise go unexplored. The films in the Family Program will ignite children’s imaginations and creativity.

During intermission the Trailhead Children’s Museum will offer hands on activities that deepen the connection with the films they have just seen. The Teen Program films are longer and offer thought-provoking and interesting content. We also collaborate with Crested Butte Community School. Our Screening Committee is comprised of students from the school who are interested in film, filmmaking, art and writing. Committee members screened more than 75 films this year made films selections through an online rating process including written critiques. The Crested Butte Film Festival also sponsors a film that will be screened for the entire school community during the school year. As our Festival matures we hope the kids will assume ownership of the Festival Youth Programs.
