Driving from LA:
According to Mapquest, it's 890 miles from LA to Crested Butte and a little more than fifteen hours.
Considering airport security, parking, and the cost of a rental car, who knows, this may be your best option.
It's a beautiful drive and many of our filmmakers have arrived this way.
Carpooling with other filmmakers is also an option.
If you are interested in carpooling from LA please drop us a line.
Our nearest airport is Gunnison, CO., thirty minutes away from Crested Butte. Unfortunately, flying into Gunnison will sometimes double or triple the cost of flying into Denver.
If you arrive at the Gunnison Airport we are happy to pick you up and return you there. At the present time, there is only one daily flight into Gunnison - similar to flying into Greenland or the Falkland Islands.
Other options are flying into Denver or Montrose and then renting a car and driving. Montrose is 1.5 hours from CB and Denver is 4.5 hours - both are beautiful drives, especially during the fall.
If you're interested in carpooling from the Denver International Airport, please let us know.
Our goal is to keep you as informed and up to date as possible with all festival happenings. At any time if you have a question you can email or call:
Kat Cooke, Director's Assistant
Jennifer Brody, Festival Director
